The HAY AAC 16 Chair, designed by Hee Welling, exemplifies Scandinavian minimalism with its clean, curved lines and slim, symmetrical legs. Its shell is crafted from 100% post-consumer recycled polypropylene, offering both sustainability and comfort. The four-legged base, available in chrome or powder-coated finishes, is positioned at a rounded angle under the seat to frame the upright, organic shell, ensuring optimal comfort and stackability. With a variety of shell colours, the AAC 16 seamlessly integrates into dining areas, offices and public spaces, embodying HAY's commitment to functional and versatile design.

Designer: Hee Welling

Hee Welling is a Danish furniture designer who founded his own studio in Copenhagen in 2003. The son of a cabinetmaker, Welling’s fascination with production techniques, materials, and machinery was fired as a child. He went on to study at The University of Art and Design in Helsinki, and received his master’s degree in furniture design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Centred around the idea of creating technically accomplished products that can reach a wide audience, his designs are characterised by a great sense of proportion and quietly elegant aesthetics.
