The Louis Poulsen VL45 Radiohus Portable Lamp brings the elegance of the original 1940s design into a compact, cordless format ideal for contemporary living. Featuring the signature triple-layered, mouth-blown opal glass shade and a brushed brass base, this portable edition emits the same soft, diffuse glow that made the original a design icon. Rechargeable via USB-C and offering three-step dimming, it’s perfect for mood lighting on shelves, bedside tables, or outdoor terraces. With timeless detailing and wireless convenience, the VL45 Portable is a refined lighting companion for modern, flexible interiors.

Designer: Vilhelm Lauritzen

Vilhelm Lauritzen was a Danish architect and a leading figure in Danish functionalism. His work approached architecture, interiors and lighting as a unified whole. In collaboration with Louis Poulsen he developed lighting for Radiohuset in Copenhagen, including the VL 45 Radiohus and VL Studio families.
