Description

The HAY Nelson Lantern Bubble Pendant Lamp, designed by George Nelson, reinterprets the traditional lantern through a refined mid-century modern aesthetic. Its softly rounded silhouette features a lightweight steel wire frame coated in translucent polymer, allowing light to diffuse gently and evenly throughout a space. Inspired by Swedish silk-covered pendant lamps, this sculptural design combines innovative materials with timeless simplicity, bringing a warm, atmospheric glow to living rooms, bedrooms and contemporary interiors.

Good design, done properly.

George Nelson

Designer: George Nelson

George Nelson (1908–1986) was an American architect, writer and industrial designer and one of the defining figures of mid-century modern design. Trained at Yale, Nelson combined architecture with a belief that design should respond intelligently to social and technological change. His influential work includes the Nelson Bubble Lamps, first developed in the late 1940s and produced for Herman Miller from the 1950s, now available in Europe through HAY.
