Description

The HAY Nelson Pear Wall Sconce Lamp, designed by George Nelson, celebrates the organic simplicity of mid-century modern lighting through its softly curved, pear-shaped silhouette. Crafted from a lightweight steel wire frame coated in translucent polymer, the shade provides a gentle, atmospheric glow while creating a refined sculptural presence. Suspended from an elegant steel arm and walnut wall mount, the lamp adjusts both horizontally and vertically for versatile positioning. George Nelson

Designer: George Nelson

George Nelson (1908–1986) was an American architect, writer and industrial designer and one of the defining figures of mid-century modern design. Trained at Yale, Nelson combined architecture with a belief that design should respond intelligently to social and technological change. His influential work includes the Nelson Bubble Lamps, first developed in the late 1940s and produced for Herman Miller from the 1950s, now available in Europe through HAY.
