Study 06Take a little
longer outside.
A balcony coffee. Lunch in the garden. One more conversation as the light changes. Think of the space outside as another place to live, with furniture and small details that make you want to stay.
Start with somewhere to sit and a surface for what you bring out. Add shade, a portable light and greenery at a scale that suits the space.

Make space for a shared meal
Gather
in the garden.
Choose the table for the way you use the space: a small café table for morning coffee, or a longer surface for food, friends and the occasional extra guest.
A bench keeps the arrangement relaxed. Bring out a tray and familiar glasses when it is time to eat, then take those smaller indoor pieces back in afterwards.
Somewhere to stay a little longer
Beyond
the table.
A second seat, a little shade and a planter can turn an unused corner into part of the day. Try placing a bench where you can catch the last of the sun.
Bring a suitable portable light out for the evening, and follow the maker’s care and storage guidance when it is time to come back in.
